Camping is an adventure in itself, but how do you make it truly unforgettable? So that you'll look back on it in five years and think, "That was truly amazing." We're happy to give you some tips!

Choose the best camping spot
A hammock and a picnic table on your pitch—that sounds like the ultimate chill-out! Or would you prefer to have your car nearby? Or do you like to keep an eye on the children playing? Choose the campsite and pitch that best suit your needs. Do you prefer nearby restrooms, or do you find them uninviting? Do you prefer a paved road for accessibility, or do you prefer a cozy forest path? Bringing your dog? There's something for everyone!

Make a camping checklist
Ultimate enjoyment naturally starts with: no frustration during the preparation and execution! So, make a list beforehand of the items you absolutely mustn't forget. Think of:
- Pegs
- Groundsheet
- Guy ropes
- Air mattress, mat, or camp bed
- If you bring an air mattress: don't forget the pump
- Your pillow
- Blanket or sleeping bag
- A small table and chairs
- Extension cord + camping plug
- Gas stove
- Dishes and pans
Choose unique outings
When you think of outings in this region, you probably think of the beach, visiting the market, walking in the dunes, or going to the pool. All super fun activities. But think a little further! How cool would it be to go geocaching?
What is Geocaching?
It's like a treasure hunt, but using GPS coordinates. The fun part is: you don't know what you're looking for. But one thing's for sure: when you find it, you'll immediately know it was exactly what you were looking for! You can play geocaching with a hiking GPS or with the special app. And the best part is, there's even a cache within walking distance of the campsite! Each geocache contains a logbook. It's fun to write down who you are and when you found it. Have fun!

Starstruck
At Geversduin campsite, you're right by the sea and practically nestled in the dunes. The air is relatively clear, as there's little light pollution here. It's the perfect spot for stargazing! Who'll be the first to find the Little Dipper? Or the Big Dipper? Two observatories are about a half-hour drive away, where you can see beyond your own eyes. Explore the moon, stars, planets, and other celestial objects!

Come fly with me!
Always wanted to see the campsite from above? Near the campsite, in the middle of the dunes, there's a glider club. Perhaps you've seen them fly. And the cool thing is: you can even take off. Come fly with me and see the campsite, the dunes, and the sea from above!
You'll be flown by an experienced glider pilot who can answer all your questions about the aircraft and the flying itself. A truly unique experience!

Camping Chef
At the campsite, you really have time to cook. Of course, you don't have all the equipment for a super elaborate meal, but you can certainly make it a party! You can find plenty of delicious, easy camping recipes online. There are also special cookbooks for this. Get the kids involved; they might even be happy to help. That's perfectly fine at the campsite, where everything is taken with a grain of salt...
Anticipation is, of course, the best part, so do some research beforehand to see what delicious things you can make. And don't forget: a small spice jar takes any camping meal to the next level!
