The Woude

De Woude is an island in the Alkmaardermeer. The idyllic village has 160 inhabitants. The island is only accessible by ferry and is especially suitable for visitors who come on foot.

De Woude has a unique nature reserve full of (rare) meadow birds and the polder landscape is beautiful. Around 1800, after the Markervaart was dug, the island of De Woude was created. On the island of De Woude you will find two restaurants on the Alkmaardermeer: restaurant De Woude and 't Kombof.

Restaurant Eetcafe De Woude

Restaurant Eetcafé De Woude has a large and pleasant terrace on the Alkmaardermeer. You can drink a cup of coffee, have lunch or dinner here.

Café-restaurant 't Kombof

't Kombof is a café-restaurant with a terrace on the water. The café once started as Herberg de Hoop. The oldest documentation about the inn dates back to 1807. A few owners, names and years later, 't Kombof is what it is today: a cozy place to meet and enjoy the island, the food and the hospitality.
