The land of Hilde

01:00 pm - 03:00 pm
Take part in an excursion to get to know the surrounding landscape and related history. There are several bike rides on which a companion brings the story to life.
On the beach walls behind the dunes lived and worked long before the time began counting people. This past is dedicated to the "Huis van Hilde". The archaeological museum at Castricum station was named after a mysterious young woman whose skeleton was discovered on a meadow.

In the same area many testimonies from the early history of the former tidal landscape can still be found: Behind every elevation, every meandering stream and every dike body hides a pretty story. For the guests of the campsites Geversduin and Bakkum as well as guests and residents of the area different cycling tours are offered through this green, water rich hinterland. A companion brings these stories to life.

The participants of the bike tour will also receive the brochure "Op Zoek naar het Oer-IJ". It contains lots of additional information and a code for an app with two additional routes that you can use with your mobile phone.

The cost is € 7.50 per person. The tour takes about 2 hours. You can register directly at the reception or by email at info@campinggeversduin.nl
