Blackberries

Did you know that blackberries are related to strawberry and that blackberries are really summer fruits? Are you interested in learning more about blackberries, brambles and the growth of blackberries?

The IVN department in Central Kennemerland is organizing a trip on "Blackberries" on Sunday, 25th August 2019, in collaboration with Camping Geversduin.

Not only people love blackberries, the flowers also provide nectar for beetles, bees and bumblebees. In and on the leaves and stems live mushrooms, various beetle species, wasps, etc. IVN Leader Hermione Smit will tell you all about it and of course we also pick blackberries. So bring a bowl! In addition, you should wear sturdy shoes and long pants in the dunes, because brambles are prickly.
